Therapist: Amy Parsons, MSW, LICSW

NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

Amy strives to create a healing space where you can share your authentic self within a trustedrelationship, and feel fully accepted, seen, and heard. People are inherently resilient, and therapy can help uncover internal and external strengths and resources to draw upon as you pursue a sense of wholeness and healing.

Amy likes meeting people of all ages, but most enjoys working with kids, adolescents, and young adults (ages 5-25) and their parents and families.  Kids are naturally aware, intuitive, fun, and connected to who they are. Yet, kids go through really hard things, and Amy has walked with kids and families through valleys to help bring them back to balance, wholeness, and relationship with themselves and others.

Amy is an LICSW (Licensed Independent Social Worker) and has a Masters in Public Health with a Maternal and Child Health focus. She is a relational therapist that draws from narrative therapy, systems approach, EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and mind-body practices (using breath and movement). She practices from an anti-oppressive

framework where she challenges and acts to change the structures and systems that perpetuate bias and oppression. She is explicitly LGBTQIA+ affirming and has experience working with trans/gender diverse youth and parents as they navigate gender identity and transition.

Amy has worked with Spanish-speaking families for over a decade in various settings, mostly in South Minneapolis, where she calls home. She loves to explore the cities with her partner and two young kids, practice yoga, travel to Latin America, and care for her plants at home.
